I practise traditional acupuncture at my clinic in Penarth near Cardiff and feel very privileged to be able to help people achieve their full potential on a physical, mental and emotional level with this gentle yet extremely powerful therapeutic system. I am particularly interested in using acupuncture and related therapeutic techniques to treat babies and young children and have gained a diploma in paediatric acupuncture, following a year-long postgraduate training course with Julian Scott.
My interest in acupuncture arose following my first trip to China in 1999, where I first came across tai chi being practised. I was enthralled by the sight of so many people performing the slow meditative movements together, and I have been practising tai chi myself ever since, and have been teaching various classes for over 10 years.
As I learnt more through practising and reading about tai chi, I became more and more fascinated with Eastern perceptions of the way the body works, and the holistic view of health and disease. I started having acupuncture myself and was so impressed with the positive effects on my general health and energy levels that I decided to train to be a Chinese medicine practitioner. I studied at the College of Integrated Chinese Medicine in Reading and graduated with a Bsc in Acupuncture, along with the Licenciate.
